Ensure proper electricity, water supply to farmers: Sahil ji Maharaj
7/4/2021 11:41:00 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 4: "India is a land of agriculture and farmers, who are its backbone, strive hard day and night for us. But they are the ones who suffer badly due to lack of water and electricity supply," said Bal Sant Sahil Ji Maharaj (Jai Shri Ram Trust Chairman) while addressing media persons here today. While highlighting the plight of the farmers in J&K UT, he said that "Farmers are unable to sow the seed and do irrigation due to lack of water supply. Because of it they are losing the season. Secondly because of lack of electricity they are unable to take proper rest as there is power cut everyday from night 10 pm till morning 4 am. They start their day at dawn." He said that even as J&K is producing the electricity, it is still facing a shortage of power while it is sold to other states of the country. “Hence it is our major demand to give our state the supply of water and electricity uninterrupted and maximum while it should be provided free of cost to the public of J&K," he said. He further added that he will strive hard and to his best efforts until his demand for the public and farmers are met.
