| Awam-Ki-Awaaz takes off on weekends | | | Early Times Report
jammu, July 4: The much hyped Awam-Ki-Awaaz cell formed to register grievances of the people doesn't work on Saturdays and Sundays.
Anyone who faces an emergency problem related to electricity and water has to wait for 2-days to get his grievance addressed. If someone calls the Awaam-Ki- Awaaz- on weekends gets to hear a recorded message: "You can register your grievance on weekdays from Monday to Saturday."
A citizen, who had called the helpline while talking to Early Times said, "One has to wait in a queue to get his complaint registered even on the weekdays. This Awaam-Ki- Awaaz is nothing but a publicity stunt. Had the government been really sincere it would have set up a helpline that could have worked 24x7."
He said, "There is no record of how many calls Awaam-Ki- Awaaz has received and how many grievances have been redressed till date." |
