Apni Party DDC member booked for 'assaulting' revenue officers in Bandipora | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, July 4: A District Development Council (DDC) member of Apni Party was on Sunday booked for allegedly assaulting two revenue officers, including Assistant Commissioner Revenue and a Tehsildar, in north Kashmir district of Bandipora. Official sources said a team of revenue officers, including Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) and the Tehsildar concerned , was surveying a road at village Kudhara, Arin in Bandipora on Sunday. However, they said the DDC member of Arin, identified as Ghulam Mohi-ud-din, arrived at the spot and started arguing with the officials. ?The heated argument escalated following which the DDC member manhandled the ACR and the Tehsildar,? they said. They said the revenue officers filed a complaint at Police Station Bandipora following which an FIR under relevant section of the law was registered against Mohi-ud-din. ?Further investigation into the incident has been initiated,? they added. Mohi-ud-din had won the Arin constituency during the DDC election held last year as an independent candidate and later joined the Apni Party.
