JKTMA holds protest, demands amendment in transfer list
7/4/2021 11:42:41 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, July 4: Jammu Kashmir Teachers/ Masters Association (JKTMA) made a strong protest within the premises of Chief Education Officer Udhampur against the transfer list issued as per ATD Drive 2021. Rakesh Singh, the state president of the Association alleged pick and choose policy along with various other discrepancies in the transfer list. Expressing his strong resentment against the list Singh said that total 782 teachers applied for transfer but only 287 teachers were transferred keeping aside 495 teachers who are left in the same school despite completing more than 4 years there and some of them are from hard areas. Same is the case with other districts including Samba, Kathua and Jammu. Association General Secretary Vivek Gupta urged the Principal secretary School Education Department, BK Singh, to either consider the transfer of all teachers having a stay of more than 4 years or cancel the whole list of Udhampur with direction to order fresh transfers next year with new and teachers friendly policy guidelines.
Singh also alleged that the list of district Udhampur is prepared without framing any Committee by Chief Education Officer Udhampur due to which the whole list is full of flaws leaving the majority of deserving teachers in despair. "If the demand is not fulfilled then all aggrieved teachers are contemplating to take a stay from the court," Association members said. The Association also submitted a memorandum to Chief Education Officer, Udhampur, Arvin Kumar Koul requesting him to redress their grievance who informed the Association that a Committee has been framed to look into the matter.
