EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 4: The workers of Dogra Front (DF)-Shiv Sena (SS) under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta took out a protest rally in Jammu city against the non-availability of water and electricity.
The activists held a protest with empty water buckets and electric fans held in their hands as they raised slogans against the Jal Shakti department and PDD for its failure to provide basic facilities to the people of the region.
"As the mercury has touched 45 degree Celsius in Jammu, electricity and water supply seems to have vanished into thin air,” he said.
He said that the lack of potable water and electricity has sent people of Jammu region back to the Stone Age.
Ashok Gupta lambasted at the department for accusing the general masses for power crisis in the name of power theft. Ashok Gupta said that Shiv Sena & Dogra Front would continue to agitate till provision of basic amenities to the poor and deprived classes was ensured by the authorities concerned.
“The shortage of power supply has led to scarcity of water in the city,” he said, adding that the Lt Governor should take cognizance of the matter and issue necessary instructions to the PDD authorities for immediate action to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people.
The party people who were present at the time of protest included Deepu, Kishore, Subhash, Ajay Prem, Bantu, Vicky, Kalu, Naresh, Vinay, Shokit and Atulya
