| Sikh Organizations reiterate demand to install Baba Banda’s statue | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 4: An emergency meeting of various Sikh Organizations J&K held under the chairmanship of Mohinder Singh, Chief Organiszer Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and ex-member District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu. In the meeting various issues confronting the Sikh community were discussed. The participants expressed anguish over delaying tactics of the Govt in installing statue of Baba Banda Singh ji Bahadur at Kunjwani Chowk, Jammu. They said that time and again it has been announced by the former Dy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta that the statue of Baba Banda Singh ji Bahadur will be installed at Kunjwani Chowk but nothing has been done so far. The people of Jammu are still waiting for fulfilment of the promise made by then Dy Chief Minister, they added. There is resentment among the Sikhs that the Govt only befooled the community and false promises were made during elections only. Those present in the meeting included Darbinder Singh President Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Rajinder Singh General Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Raja Singh Sarpanch member DGPC Jammu, Ravinder Singh Sarpanch & General Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K.
