SCCU constitutes Talent Hunt Committee

UDHAMPUR, July 18: The Senior Citizens' Club (Regd) Udhampur (SCCU) in its weekly meeting today constituted 'Talent Hunt Committee' to identify the budding generation who excel in the field of sports, writing, culture, promotion of Dogri language, Dogra traditions, Dogra heritage headed by national volleyball player and yoga teacher Raj Guru.
Club president Mahadeep Singh Jamwal while speaking on the occasion said it is the endeavor of the club to inspire such budding stars and the 'Senior Citizens' Club - Udhampur' will honor them from time to time.
This will impress other young ones to attract these activities and this way help them to distance themselves from falling to the various bad habits and to improve their future for the betterment of themselves and for the nation. In this direction, today the club recognized such talent Miss Somiya d/o Mrs Menakshi Gupta and Inderjit Gupta of ward no 15, a student of 9th standard of Braham Rishi Bawra Udhampur by presenting a memento for securing position in the field of yoga at the UT level.
On the occasion, the Club also honored the parents of Miss Somiya by presenting a plant by the club. Club also observed two minutes of silence to pay homage to the departed soul, mother of Vikram Singh Panchi, video reporter of 'Media Plus' Udhampur and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. Among others members of the club, Vice-president Col (rtd) Balwant Singh, Advisors S K Gandotra, Ramesh Kumar, treasurer Mohan Singh, Dr Vipin Chander, Sushil Kumar, Parveen Kumar, Sub (rtd) Joginder Singh, were present.
