Height of duplicity: No BJP leader attends birth anniversary function of G L Dogra
Earlier BJP leaders used to compete to make their presence felt

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 18: 106th birth anniversary of veteran Congress leader and former Finance Minister of J&K, Pt. Girdhari Lal Dogra was observed on July 17.
Leaders of the different political parties including the provincial president of National Conference Devender Singh Rana paid tributes to the great leader. Except for BJP leaders, politicians from other parties paid their tributes to the veteran leader on his birth anniversary.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha also paid tributes to former minister Girdhari Lal Dogra on his birth anniversary. In a tweet on official Twitter profile of the office of Lt Governor, Sinha said Remembering Girdhari Lal Dogra Ji, former Minister of J&K on his birth anniversary.
He was a visionary leader who served the people of J&K for a long time in various capacities & always worked for the upliftment of poor & downtrodden sections of society. My sincere tributes to him.
Former minister, Dogra served twice as a Member of Parliament (MP) and six times as an MLA.
Dogra was also the father in law of former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Ironically, before death of Arun Jaitely there was competition among BJP leaders to mark their presence in the functions organized to observe birth and death anniversaries of late Congress leaders.
When late Arun Jaitely was Union Minister, J&K BJP leaders made it a point to attend functions in the memory of late Pt Girdhari Lal Dogra. What to say about attending the functions, some senior BJP leaders earlier themselves made arrangements for such functions.
But, unfortunately, after the demise of late Arun Jaitely BJP leaders have also forgotten the late Dogra, whose daughters are still working to help residents of Jammu and Kashmir in one way or another.
Even those BJP leaders, who earlier considered Arun Jaitely, as their political mentor, too have skipped the function.
