Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 18: A day after busting of the white-collar terrorists' module, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir are seriously thinking to hand over this highly sensational case to the National Investigating Agency (NIA) for further investigation. Highly placed sources said that during initial questioning the arrested persons including the Secretary of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Akbar Sofi has revealed some startling disclosures. "Arrested persons are involved in very serious crime and they are the real threat to the integration of the country", sources said and added that during preliminary questioning this gang was involved in reviving terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir in general and Kashmir Valley in particular. Sources revealed that the arrested secretary of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation was the kingpin of the terror syndicate and it was only on his directions the whole module was operating and making a hit list of journalists, politicians, businessmen, and government officers. Sources said that SMC Secretary was appointed as a clerk in the urban body but he was later reached to the position of Secretary. "It was all due to political patronage and support of terror groups that the officer with the mysterious background was holding such an important position", sources said and added that investigating agencies were probe how he was dodging all agencies while operating as the kingpin of terror module while sitting on such an important position. As reported earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have busted a white-collar terrorists' module- which was behind issuing threats to social activists, politicians, bureaucrats, government officers and journalists, on the directions of their mentors, sitting in Pakistan. Five persons were arrested in this case. Those arrested including Secretary of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation Akbar Sofi and his children Nazish Yasrab Rehman and Tabish Akbar Rehmani from their residence at Sanant Nagar.
