Locals rue dilapidated condition of Devika road | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, July 18: The road linking ancient Devika temple to National Highway at Shiv Nagar W No 10 is in dilapidated condition for the last one year thereby giving tough time to the commuters. A large number of devotees which include senior citizens and childern visiting Devika temple and cremation ground face hardships as the road is in bad condition for the last one year and situation has been further worsened due to heavy rains. The Udhampur Municipality and district administration is unconcerned about it, said Achit Magotra and Bunty Sharma, a local shopkeeper. Devotees visiting Devika temple to pay obeisance told Early Times that the road has been in a pathetic condition for the past one year despite repeated appeals to the Ward member, Muncipality and administration, which have failed to pay any attention. Local resident Raj Kumar and Swami Raj alleged that 180 Crores are being spent for the beautification of Devika. But the condition of the approach road to sacred Aap Shambu temple and holy Devika is exposing ground reality. |
