Panchs, Sarpanchs, locals stage sit in to seek justice for rape victim | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 18: Panchs, Sarpanchs along with locals staged a protest at Dansal on Sunday to seek justice for a girl, who was allegedly gang raped. Protesters told Early Times that they are sitting on the streets to wake up the law enforcing agencies from the deep slumber. "Till date only one of the accused has been arrested while others are roaming scot free," they said. Protesters alleged that family members of the victim girl are being threatened and intimidated. "It appears that action against the accused is being delayed deliberately. But we will not allow the influential to get away as the accused have committed a heinous crime and have to be punished," they added. The protesters said that people from Dansal and other areas have joined hands to seek justice for the victim. "She is the daughter of all. If we don't raise our voice today, tomorrow these goons can repeat their act with anyone's daughter." |
