| ICAR awards KVKs of SKUAST-Jammu | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 21: Krishi Vigyan Kendras of SKUAST-Jammu were awarded by Agricultural Technology Research Institute (ATARI) - Zone I ICAR Ludhiana.
KVK is awarded for their commendable contribution in the field of agriculture and allied sectors during the Annual Zonal Workshop of KVKs 2021. A workshop was organized by ICAR-ATARI, Zone-I with the objective to review the work carried out by KVKs of Zone-1 during previous year and approval of Annual Action Plan for the year 2021-22. Professor JP Sharma, VC SKUAST-J congratulated team of KVK Jammu and KVK Reasi winning the award during the workshop. KVK Jammu Headed by Dr Punit Choudhary (Sr Scientist) was awarded for best presentation and KVK Reasi Headed by Dr Banarsi Lal (Sr Scientist) were awarded best KVK award during the Zonal Workshop. Both the awards were presented to them for their excellent work during the year 2020-21. KVK Jammu is working on preservation and improvement of RS Pura Basmati-370, Aquaculture, Medicinal fruits, Processing and value addition, exotic and off season vegetables under protected cultivation, rainfed agriculture etc whereas KVK Reasi is working on Value addition, Organic production of Honey and other Agricultural produce, Floriculture, medicinal and aromatic plants etc. It is worth to mention here that the KVKs of SKUAST - Jammu are working under the able guidance of Dr. S. K. Gupta, Director Extension, SKUAST-Jammu. |
