Beware of new Covid variant
7/21/2021 11:44:03 PM
The new variant has appeared in many states across the country and it has already started infecting the people. But people in Jammu and Kashmir are taking the virus casually. It seems that they have started believing that the pandemic is over and they have nothing to fear for.
The COVID-19 cases have declined in Jammu and Kashmir and fatalities are also dropping but that doesn’t mean that the pandemic has ended. It’s still there. Following the Covid appropriate behavior is the only way out. If we don’t follow the Sops we will end up in a big mess.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that there should be no politics over handling of the pandemic, while Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed the Parliament that India is prepared for a possible third wave of Covid-19.
The State Governments need to cooperate with the Centre to tackle the possible third wave. The politicians should realize that when the COVID-19 hit the country in 2020, everyone was clueless about the pandemic and no one was prepared to tackle it. After 2-years the situation has changed and things are looking better. The Covid testing labs have been established across the country and people are getting vaccinated. So things are not as bad as they were in the beginning of 2020. People have been living with COVID-19 for the past 2-years. They are aware of the fact that the virus is contagious and it spreads at a fast pace. If we have to keep the virus at bay we have to follow the Sops and get vaccinated. The COVID-19 jabs are the only way to develop herd immunity.
If people don’t want the lockdown to return, then they have to act responsibly. If we have to remain safe we have to take precautions. When the pandemic had broken, experts at that point of time had predicted that the COVID will stay with us and it’s not going to go away soon. Their prediction has come true. We have defeated two COVID waves and will also defeat another possible way but for that we have to act in a responsible manner.
