Rana releases "Mera Jandrah Goriye”, pitches for promotion of Dogri
8/4/2021 10:56:31 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 4: Lauding the initiative of youngsters towards promotion of Dogri, the rich and sweet language, National Conference Provincial President today exuded confidence that given abundant talent the art and culture of the Duggarland will reach newer heights.
“Every single effort in the promotion of our heritage and culture would be a great tribute to those who have bequeathed rich legacy to the posterity”, Mr Rana said while releasing the Dogri song, "Mera Jandrah Goriye”, produced by Rajan Films Jammu here this afternoon.
Devender Singh Rana said language is the symbol of a culture and tradition of a population. He urged the Government to promote the Dogri through various forms of arts and urged all Dogras to converse in Dogri in their homes so that the younger generation is well lived to the language. He proposed that a Dogri Music Industry must be promoted in Jammu so that like the Punjabi, Dogri also becomes popular not only in J&K but across the country and overseas through the diaspora living abroad.
The song ‘Mera Jandrah Goriye’, composed and sung by acclaimed singer Nirbhay Slathia has been produced by Rajan Singh Jamwal and directed by Ravinder Samyal. While the music is by Surinder Manhas, the presentation has been edited by Ravi Thappa. Vicky Sagar is camera assistant, flute by Rakesh Anand, Choreography Suksham Guleria,
The main lead of the album is Rajan Singh Jamwal and Priya Gupta.
The song has been shot at the locale in the serene and splendid surroundings of village Jandrah.
The crew and the cast of the album briefed Mr Rana about the production, saying this will follow other productions in Dogri, the language of millions. They hoped that their production will be received well by the people, which will serve as an encouragement for the artists to work hard and make their mark in the field of art and culture. Rana appreciated the directional effect and team work of the production, adding that beautiful lyrics, composition and music is enviable. He lauded and congratulated the team and also complimented Mr. Gulshan Singh Charak who encouraged the song. Rana wished all the best to the production team for their great effort. He said Jammu has no dearth of talent and there is need to identify and provide them a forum to bring out their creativity at larger canvass.
Seizing this opportunity, Rana lamented over delay in the activation of all the new administrative units, including Tehsil office at Jandrah, sanctioned by the National Conference government, adding that the people are becoming restive with illogical approach in implementing the order pertaining to administrative units selectively.
He referred to the Cabinet Decision No 187/14/2014 on 21 October 2014 and said among other places, Tehsil Office had been sanctioned for Jandrah also, which has not been implemented during the past nearly seven years. Repeated assurance even on the floor of the State Assembly were given by the administration from time to time to make the sanctioned Jandrah Tehsil functional but nothing positive has emerged at ground zero.
