JKSC exposes minors to COVID-19, allows practice in MA Stadium
8/4/2021 11:22:54 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Aug 4: In a decision which could be aptly described as short-sightedness, the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) has allowed minor children to practice in MA Stadium exposing them to COVID-19 virus.
A video on social media platform clearly shows that children below 18 years were seen practicing in the Stadium in sheer violation of COVID SOPs despite the fact that they have not been vaccinated till date due to which they are at risk of getting exposed to this deadly viral infection. Although schools, colleges and other educational institutions are still closed in wake of COVID-19 but here Sports authority without applying mind allowed children to attend practice sessions, which can potentially put them into danger when a third wave of coronavirus is expected in the coming time.
“Children below 18 were seen practicing Karate, skating and other games.
They were asked to attend the practice sessions by the authority.
As per expert, the children are not immune to this virus and the third wave has been declared dangerous for children, who have not been vaccinated but the decision of authority to call them to attend practice can prove fatal. Who will be responsible if anybody among them gets infected” some parents alleged.
Some coaches on the condition of anonymity informed that they were directed from the higher authority and they cannot do anything as they have to follow the directions of their superiors.
