JAMMU, Aug 4: Prominent OBC leaders of Akhil Bhartiya Kashyap Mahasabha and others today joined Apni Party in presence of Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari. As per a press statement, the joining programme was organised by the OBC State Coordinator, Madan Lal Chalotra in which Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh and other leaders of the Party were also present. Welcoming the newcomers into the Party, Altaf Bukhari said that the Apni Party supports the demand for reservation enhancement in Jammu and Kashmir for the OBC community. “The demand for 27% reservation of OBC community should be accepted by the Government so that the neglected community can be socially, economically, educationally and politically be uplifted,” said Altaf Bukhari while addressing the OBC leaders who joined the Party. He said that these people are mostly landless. “Apni Party stands with them and will continue its fight for the upliftment of the OBC community in J&K,” he said. He said that the OBC community has remained deprived of their rights since long despite the political parties they voted for hardly cared for them. Prominent among those who joined the Party includes Darshan Kumar Mehra, General Secretary, Akhil Bhartiya Kashyap Mahasabha, Sat Paul Verma, Amardeep Lohria, Rajinder Singh, Som Dutt, Ashok Kumar, Tara Chand, Sonu Kashyap, and others. President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta, SC State Coordinator Bodh Raj Bhagat and others were present on the occasion. |
