National VHP leaders visit Chamber House | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 4: Appreciating the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu for acting as the key cog in the wheel of J&K’s development, Milind Parande, VHP Kendriya Mahamantri and Mukesh Khandekar VHP Sangathan Mantri North India asked the traders body’s office bearers to contribute rationally in boosting the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. The VHP leaders visited Chamber House here on Wednesday and held a meaningful discussion on various burning issues of the UT including development, promotion of pilgrimages and giving a fillip to tourism besides taking regional economy to move at full throttle pace. Welcoming the VHP leaders to the City of Temples, Arun Gupta, CCI President apprised them about the issues which the UT is confronting since the last nearly two years on account of various changes which the J&K witnessed due to abrogation of Article 370, bifurcation of state, onset of pandemic corona and subsequent lockdowns. He particularly mentioned that J&K’s economy mainly depend on tourists and the recent tumultuous conditions in the newly carved out UT have abruptly stopped all the economic activity bringing the thriving business sector on edge with no light of ray apparently seen ahead. He said that government though came out with some schemes and relaxations but on the whole the scenario still is not promising and there is dire need to do more in the direction to rejuvenate business especially in Jammu region. He also highlighted the pain of traders of the region on account of suspension of Shri Amarnathji Yatra for three consecutive years in a row and Machail Yatra. He however said that pilgrimage to holy cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi is going on but due to pandemic and restrictions the numbers of pilgrims have plummeted as compared to normal days thus giving a jolt to the business in Jammu Region. After getting the whole picture of the current situation, visiting leaders of the VHP said that CCI being the ace body of traders should take the responsibility on its shoulders and come out with a comprehensive plan to rejuvenate the economy of the region and should also suggest the government the ways to take tourism to next level as this can only bail out the people of Jammu from extremities due to paucity of business avenues on account of aforesaid hindrances including corona crisis. They asked CCI to contribute rationally in bringing the economy of J&K back on tracks. Among others who were present on the occasion included Anil Gupta Sr. Vice-President, Rajeev Gupta Jr. Vice-President, Gaurav Gupta Secretary General, Rajesh Gupta Secretary, Rajesh Gupta Treasurer, Rajesh Gupta Working President VHP for UT of J&K Ladakh, Vivekanand Organising Secretary VHP for UT of J&K Ladakh. And Abhishek Gupta Secretary General VHP for UT of J&K Ladakh. |
