Public outreach programme held at Chak Sadha in Rajpura Block

SAMBA, Aug 4: In compliance with the directions issued by the J&K government, Deputy Commissioner Samba Anuradha Gupta, along with district and sectoral officers today held a public outreach programme at zero line border village Chak Sadha GHS of Block Rajpura and assessed the pace of development activities, saturation of social security schemes besides listened to the public grievances. Block Development Chairman Rajpura Radhey Shyam, District Development Council member, Asha Rani, Additional District Development Commissioner Tilak Raj Shastri, Sub Divisional Magistrate Ram Kesh Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Development Sidharath Dhiman, besides other district officers and sectoral officers were also present. The programme witnessed the participation of a large number of locals and PRI members, who projected their demands including maintenance of road, adequate power supply, clean and hygienic drinking water supply, clearance of pendency of EWS & Border resident category certificates, compensation for non cultivable agriculture land on zero line border, clearance of payments under MGNREGA and other local issues. Deputy Commissioner Samba, while taking cognisance of the problems, directed Executive Engineer PWD, Jal Shakti and PDD to resolve all grievances within a set time frame. She stressed on district and sectoral officers to coordinate with ADDC and formulate a consolidated report regarding each grievance of the area. The DC asked for promotion of cultivation of lemon grass, Aloe Vera and other cash crops on the border agriculture land as it requires minimum manual labour or animal driven cultivation.
