DC Kathua convenes Public Grievances redress camp at border Block Marheen

KATHUA, Aug 4: To listen to the Grievances of the people at their doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav today convened a Public Grievances Redressal Camp here in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Marheen.
DDC Member Karan Kumar Attri, SSP Kathua, District Officers besides Sarpanch, Panchs and a large number of people attended the camp.
The DC directed concerned officers of RDD to expedite the works taken up under different schemes to ensure their timely completion.
With regard to drinking water supply, the concerned department was asked to meet the requirement in deficit areas through tankers till the commissioning of a regular Water Supply scheme in all such areas.
For Flood related grievances, the DC directed XEN Flood Control to expedite the restoration works in areas prone to flash floods.
Directions were also issued to the Revenue Department for processing of the cases of loss of life and property due to rains, floods or any natural calamity. Scores of deputation from Marheen, Chadwal, Bandore and surrounding Panchayats apprised Deputy Commissioner about problems faced by them, besides projecting development aspirations of their areas.
The DC assured that the grievances raised shall be addressed by the concerned authorities on priority basis. He asked the officers of line departments to maintain close liaison with elected representatives so that public issues shall be redressed with utmost importance.
He appealed to people not to lower their guard against Covid-19 and continue to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour and take vaccine to prevent fresh surge of Covid-19.
