Udhampur administration launches ‘Mission Good Governance’
Move envisages strengthening of monitoring mechanism at all levels: DC

UDHAMPUR, Aug 4: District Administration Udhampur today launched ‘Mission Good Governance’ to promote accountability and transparency in the working of departments for sustainable development in the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib launched the “Mission Good Governance initiative ” at Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur. The mission among other things envisions strengthening of the monitoring mechanism, the DC said and informed that the PRIs shall take monthly review of all the schemes of the departments at Block level as per calendar issued by District Administration. Under this initiative, the district administration will strive for on the spot redress of public grievances and problems at Panchayat/block level. She asked all the departments to publicize and make people/PRIs aware about the priority sectors and said that the progress of District good governance indicators will be monitored at Panchayat level.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi; Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Giri; Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Chowdhary; ACP, Navdeep Wazir; District Information Officer, Ateeksha Sethi and other officers were present on the occasion.
