DC Udhampur holds public outreach programme at Panchari

UDHAMPUR, Aug 4: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib today visited Block Panchari and listened to people’s issues at a public outreach programme held at Govt. higher secondary school.
BDC Chairman, Jeevan Sharma, DDC member, Jasvir Singh, Sarpanches, Panches besides a large number of general public hailing from different adjoining Panchayats of Block Panchari attended the public outreach programme and projected several demands and problems being faced by them.
They demanded ATM facility at Kainthgali, reopening of Birma bridge within 3 days, Black topping of PMGSY road from Kainth Gali to Panchari, Shortage of staff in Education and Health Department, Vacant post of Tehsildar at Panchari, inclusion of left out beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat, Sehat Scheme, Construction of Irrigation canal in Katti, Implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, Dilapidated condition of Trishi Gandala and other PMGSY roads, resolving of degree college dispute, Establishment of girls hostel, Inclusion of left out beneficiaries under SMAS scheme, Filling of vacant post at Government High School Galiote, PRIs also demanded construction of bridges, Electrification of un-electrified area, Requirement of New Ambulance facility at PHCs, etc.
The DC said that the main objective of this programme is to take a firsthand appraisal of important issues at the grassroots level. She said that such platforms enable District administration to know the multifaceted problems being faced by the public which in turn help devise appropriate strategy through prioritization and optimum utilization of resources for redressal of issues through converged efforts.
Referring to the UT government initiative “Hausla” for women entrepreneurs and “Tejaswini” the DC urged the public to come forward and avail the benefits of these schemes. The DC also planted a tree and encouraged the local people to plant more and more trees for conserving the environment.
During the programme many grievances were redressed on the spot by intervention /directions to officers of concerned departments’ while rest of demands would be redressed on priority by mobilization of budgetary provision to the best public interest. The DC asked the officers to inform the people about income generating and beneficiary oriented schemes launched by Government of India and UT Govt.
She further added that the aim of such programmes is to get the feedback of on-going developmental activities by various departments and remove bottlenecks to fast track the developmental process.
The DC noted and heard all the demands of the public and assured redress of genuine issues in a time bound manner.
