JAMMU, Aug 6: To recognize and acknowledge the contributions of Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Member of Parliament and 7th Chief Minister of J&K, Women Club Meri Pehchan (WCMP) conferred the prestigious Maharaja Hari Singh Dogra Samman upon him. WCMP is a trust working in Jammu and Kashmir. WCMP awarded Maharaja Hari Singh Dogra Samman to those who have conferred the greatest benefits to people of Jammu and Kashmir.
From being the secretary for a Block Congress Committee in his early 20s to being awarded the best parliamentarian award in 2015, Jenab Gulam Nabi Azad has always shown his commitment and love through not only his words, but also his actions. Keeping the risks associated with covid-19, WCMP conferred the award to him at his residence in a small gathering in which Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (Retd.), Dr. S.P Verma(Padamshree), Sandhya Gupta (Chairperson WCMP) and other dignitaries of the society were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (Retd.) shed light on the political and social career of Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad Sahab and appreciated his contributions for the Union territory in general and Jammu and Dogras in particular by always representing them, their interests and keeping forth their demands.
Sandhya Gupta, (Chairperson WCMP) shared her perception of Azad's Gandhian values and the way he perseveringly worked for upliftment of the region and its people. She spoke highly about his moral values and his burning desire for spreading peace and harmony. 'Honoring you was the decision of a special committee of WCMP and it's actually a privilege for us to get to honor a dignitary like yourself", spoke Sandhya.
