NMC seeks compensation for journalists | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 6: President of the National Mazdoor conference(NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed the Prime Minister and Union Minister of information and broadcasting to intervene and demanded compensation of Rs. One crore to those who have sacrificed their lives while discharging duty including journalists. Shastri further said that the fourth pillar of Indian democracy is on job, putting their lives at risk like other COVID-19 warriors. He said that the compensation should be for all journalists – accredited or non accredited because all journalists are working equally day and night in the time of pandemic. Pleading the cause of both Central/states/UT employees and pensioners, Shastri further demanded in releasing of 5% DA due from July1,2021 in favor of the employees and pensioners of the Central/states and UT governments so that employees and pensioners would get sigh relief from rising prices and inflation. Setting up of wage Board, implementation of all central labor laws and enhancing the wages of daily rated workers to rupees 20,000 per month were others demands highlighted in these memorandums. |
