SCERT J&K concludes 5-day faculty development program on “Design of Training and Implementation”

JAMMU, Aug 6: Five-day online faculty development program on “Design of Training and Implementation” organised by Teacher Education Wing, SCERT J&K, Jammu concluded here today.
The orientation event which started on August 2 was held on the directions of Principal Secretary to Govt., School Education Department, B K. Singh and under the guidance of Director SCERT J&K, Prof. Veena Pandita and overall supervision of Surinder Kumar, Joint Director SCERT J&K, Jammu.
This programme formed the sequel of the Faculty Development Programme on Training Needs Analysis conducted from 1st July to 3rd July 2021 and participants were the same 50 Faculty Members from DIETs of Jammu Division.
The purpose of this programme was to enhance the skills of the trainers from DIETs, in designing the training programmes & their implementation which will further help the training Institutions i.e DIETs & SCERT, to adopt the systematic approach for designing the trainings & their implementation.
The different sessions of the programme included: Design Brief, Challenges to Design of Training, Design Based on the Learning Unit, Management of Training, Creating Training Action Plan, Motivational Dynamics of Trainees etc. The programme also included a number of group exercises by the participants & interactive sessions with the Resource Persons.
On the 5th day of the programme, the Group leaders from respective DIET Teams gave the presentations on the Design Proposals prepared by them during the five days’ course, resulting in the achievement of the expected outcome of the programme.
The resource persons in the program included Dr. Sunita Zalpuri, Formerly Dean and Head, Centre for Good Governance, IMPARD J&K; Dr. J.N. Baliya, HOD, Dept. of Educational Studies, Central University, Jammu; Dr. V.P.S. Raju, Professor, NIEPA, New Delhi; Dr. Indu Aima, Formerly Professor, IMPARD J&K and Manju Kapoor, Asstt. Professor, IMPARD J&K.
The program concluded with the presentation of vote of thanks by Pawan Kumar Gupta, Asstt. Prof./I/c CEO and Head of Teacher Education Wing, SCERT J&K Jammu. The programme was co-ordinated by Rakhi Atri Academic Officer, SCERT J&K Jammu. Other members from Teacher Education Wing who worked to accomplish the program successfully comprised of Dr. Sabeta Kohli (AO), Kuldeep Kumar (AO), Akash Khajuria (Teacher), Yugal Kishore (Teacher), Avinakshi Kargotra (Statistical Officer).
