Azadi Ka Amrut Mohatsav: DIC Kishtwar organises District level National Anthem singing Contest for Independence Day

KISHTWAR, Aug 6: As a part of celebrations for 75 week long celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Ahead of 75th Independence Day 2022 and on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma, District level National Anthem singing competition was today organised by District Information Centre DIC kishtwar under the management of District Information Officer Kishtwar Miss Farhat Shamim in collaboration with Department of Education Kishtwar headed by CEO Kishtwar Rashpal Singh Chauhan and Department of Youth Services and sports Kishtwar headed by DYSSO Kishtwar Kharati Lal Sharma here at conference Hall DC office Complex Mini secretariat Kishtwar.
The programme was illuminated by the presence of dignitaries like Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Sham Lal, District Youth Services and sports Officer Kishtwar Kharati Lal, Incharge Press and publicity DYSSO Kishtwar Javeed Kripak, incharge Cultural Cell CEO office Kishtwar Anvi Sen besides others.
About 40 participants includes students from all the govt and private educational institutions besides interested local artists, teachers and residents of district Kishtwar participated in the said programme with great enthusiasm and determination to perform and showcase their talents and sense of patriotism.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest DC Kishtwar welcomed all the participants and appreciated the efforts laid by the concerned officers in conducting such programmes and thereby instilling the spirit of patriotism and promoting the students to showcase their talent.
In the competition held here, in the 18 plus category Suhaib Kandoo S/O Sajjad Kandoo of Kandoo Mohalla (Open entry) was declared as winner in solo category of singing National Anthem and Natasha Banoo D/O Sajjad Hussain student of Govt Degree College Kishtwar Was announced as 2nd runner up in solo performance.
In group performance under 18 plus the group composed of teachers from Kidzee Ply school Kishtwar were declared as winner.
Besides, In the age group 13-18 years of age Kalpana sharma D/O Naresh Kumar and Saloni Bhagat D/O Rakesh Kumar both students of GHSS (Girls) Kishtwar bagged 3rd position, Sahil Kumar S/O Ashok Kumar std of GHSS (Boys) Kishtwar bagged 2nd position and Payal shan D/O Shakti Kumar std of GHSS (Girls) was declared winner. All the winners will be conferred awards/prizes on the occasion of 15th Aug 2021 informed DIO Kishtwar.
On the occasion DC Kishtwar also informed the participants that the Jammu and Kashmir government has announced a national anthem singing competition as part of celebrations for 75 years of Independence through online mode.
He added that as the nation is celebrating 75 years of Independence and commemorating it as ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, under the guidance of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the administration has called upon individuals and groups to take part in the competition.
He said that Under the individual category, people can participate in two sub-categories — aged 13-18 and 18 plus. Winners will be given cash awards, first prize is Rs 25,000, the second Rs 11,000 and third is for Rs 5,000.
District-level winners will compete for division level, and all participants will get certificates, the chairperson said.
Further, all individual and group winners will get a chance to sing the national anthem at their respective district and division-level I-Day 2021 celebrations he informed.
The participants and the interested students and residents were also asked to upload the video clip of singing Nation Anthem on the given below link for online competition by or before 07-08-2021.
