Jammu accompanied Neeraj Anand, President Chamber of Traders Federation, Anil Kapahi, Secretary Amar Singh Club Jammu, Jagdish Langer, Vinod Sachdeva, Subash Gupta, Anil Gupta, Vikram Gupta, Vijay Gupta and Sham Lal Langer, General Secretary of Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market today called on R.K. Chhibber, Chairman and Managing Director J&K Bank Limited in JK Bank's Guest House Gandhi Nagar and discussed with him various issues related to the Trade Sector. Vikram Gujral, Director J&K Bank was also present during this meeting . During The detailed deliberations and discussions, Deepak Gupta urged the Chairman to Restructure the NPA accounts and lower the interest rates of bank. Deepak Gupta said that the Trade has suffered huge losses due to the Post August 2019 situation followed by Covid-19 pandemic since March 2020 which resulted in closure of business and markets. He urged for the rehabilitation and restructuring of the accounts with one time waive of accumulated interest of those account holders whose account have been converted into NPA due to unforeseen circumstances and also provide some additional finance without interest to its customers. The other issue that came under discussion with J&K Bank's Chairman were : Timing of Ware House-Nehru Market : J&K Bank's Nehru Market branch's working hours should be increased so that traders can deposit their cash in evening hours. The Nehru Market branch of JK Bank closes on its scheduled time, forcing traders to carry cash with them at night which is not safe for them. This branch should accept cash in the evening at least up to 7 PM so that the traders do not have to carry cash. Additional ATM: At present there is only one ATM in this biggest grain mandi of Jammu and that is also not properly managed. Some times, the machine remains out of order and sometimes sufficient cash is not available. It is requested to establish one more ATM in the mandi and also proper maintenance of existing ATM. Interest Rate: Rate of bank interest being charged by the J&K bank is much higher as compared to other banks, it should be brought at par with other banks. The charges for yearly renewal of bank limits are very much expensive. These charges should be waved off. J&K bank is deducting the charges from its account holders for obtaining cheque books and other transaction charges, while no bank in Jammu is charging the same. Transaction Messages: Whenever there is an online cash transfer in the bank account, a message comes to the customer on the phone but the name of the party who deposited the money does not appear in that message. There are many transactions in a day. In such a situation, it is not known how much money has been deposited by which party. The name of the party should also come in such transaction messages so that the account holder can know who has deposited the amount in his account. R.K. Chhibber gave a patient hearing to the issues, views and suggestions put forth by the delegation and also assured that all the issues raised in today's meeting will receive preferred attention and shall be addressed on priority. |
