| GDC Vijaypur celebrates J&K’s Accession Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SAMBA, Oct 26: To Commemorate the Accession Day, NSS unit (Khidmat) of GDC Vijaypur organized an online National Anthem singing contest with an aim to create a sense of patriotism and unity among the youth towards their country in which NSS volunteers of the College participated with great zeal, fervor and enthusiasm.
The first position was secured by Haroon Malik of B.A Sem-1st; second position was secured by Diksha Kattru of B.A Sem 3rd while the third position was secured by Neeraj Sharma of B.A Sem 3rd.
The whole event was conducted under the guidance of Dr Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College.
While speaking on the occasion she said that 26 October is a red letter day in Indian history. On this day in 1947 the then ruler of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir finally signed the Instrument of Accession (IOA) paving way for merger of the princely state with India. She further added that Accession Day is the day that people had longed for and the land of brave have got what it deserved for decades. The event was coordinated by Dr Sunil Kumar Mangoch, NSS (PO) and adjudicated by Dr Shamsher Lal, Assistant Professor, GDC Ramgarh and Dr Shittal Sharma, Assistant Professor, GDC Vijaypur. |
