ECCE govt's top priority: DSEJ

JAMMU, Oct 26: Director School Education, Jammu (DSEJ) Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma said that Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is on the top agenda of the School Education Department as prioritized in National Education Policy 2021.
He said this while inaugurating two-day long training programme on Home Based Learning (HBL) under ECCE organized by National Development Foundation (NDF), Jammu in partnership with UNICEF and with collaboration of Directorate of School Education, Jammu and Directorate of Samagra Shiksha J&K.
Sunny Kumar Programme Manager, NDF presented welcome address while vote of thanks was given by RC Puri, Retd KAS & Board Member NDF.
Isha Bali Programme Officer Education NDF conducted the proceedings while Jaswinder Kour Coordinator ECCE and Dr. Sareeta Sharma Asstt. Coordinator ECCE acted as Resource Persons. Around 60 Education Facilitators from across the Jammu Division participated in the training programme.
Rajiv Khajuria, President/CEO NDF in his address informed that NDF with support from UNICEF and with active collaboration and support of Education department and ICDS Directorate will deliver Home Based Learning (HBL) workbook at the doorstep of 5000 children who are in most need of it and will also identify 5000 Out of School Children (OoSC) for their mainstreaming in Education system.
Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma, Director School Education, Jammu in his address appreciated the efforts of NDF & UNICEF and assured full cooperation and support of Education department in the process. He asked the Education Facilitators to closely work with the CEO's, ZEO's, Principals, Headmasters & Teachers on ground and called upon the Education officers to extend all possible cooperation to NDF staff. He said that we need civil society organizations like NDF who supplement the efforts of the Government. He also launched "Aanganshala" Home Based learning workbook and congratulated the Education Officers, NDF and UNICEF for coming up with "Aanganshala" which shall be of great held to needy children affect by the Covid pandemic.
