| Congress demands adequate compensation for farmers' losses | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Oct 26: Congress unit of District Samba demanded release of adequate compensation to the rain affected farmers whose crops were completely damaged due to the nature's fury.
Addressing a press conference at Vijaypur, Congress District Samba President, Babal Gupta said that immediate announcement of adequate relief for the farmers, vegetable growers and others should be made so that the losses incurred for crop damages due to heavy downpour could be compensated.
Babal Gupta said that Congress party would resort to massive agitation incase the needful was not done to ameliorate the lot of agriculturists in distress.
The farmers were already facing hard ship due to Covid-19 and now climate change has ruined their crops totally, Gupta said, that adding that due to heavy rains the losses are huge. Babal Gupta asked the administration to constitute teams in respective areas to make assessment of the losses suffered by farmers and accordingly appropriate compensation should be give to the farmers.
