Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 26: "THE THINKING ACTOR'', an intensive acting workshop was inaugurated today at Natrang Jammu. Being conducted by noted theatre, television and film actor and acting trainer and National School of Drama Alumni Bhasha Sumbli, the workshop aims to impart wholesome training of acting and personality development to theatre enthusiasts. Sunil Soni would be the co-director of the workshop. Senior artists of Natrang, Anil Tickoo, Neeraj Kant and Sumeet Sharma were also present at the inaugural function. In his online address from Mauritius, Director Natrang, Balwant Thakur complemented the participants who have availed this golden opportunity to get trained from the learned and experienced mentor and asserted that Natrang would facilitate the overall growth of the young theatre aspirants. Sumbli learnt Bhand Pather from M L Kemmu and graduated from NSD. She has performed in many national and international theatre Festivals in India and abroad, like APB (Delhi), APEC (Beijing) NAPATF (Karachi), Bharat Rang Mahotsava (Delhi), etc. She has written and published various plays and research papers on the Indian performing arts, which have been published in reputed national journals like Rang Prasang, Lamahi, Sheeraza, etc. She has won the prestigious Inlaks Theatre Award cum fellowship 2014 to explore theatre form of Kudiyattam (Kerala) further as a contemporary actor. The workshop is being coordinated by Mohammad Yaseen. Those who are attending this workshop include Meenakshi Bhagat, Mahikshit Singh, Shivam Singh, Abhinav Sharma, Amish Thakyal, Bhavik Sambyal, Mohit Kaul, Gautam Sharma, Sagar Gupta, Bhawani Singh, Tanmay Mahajan, Priya Sharma, Palshin Dutta, Akshay Sharma, Kushal Bhat, Prohitdeep Singh and Rakshit Arora. |
