Training on Out of School Children begins at Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 28: Two-day long training of Educations Facilitators from all the ten districts of Jammu division on identification of Out of School Children (OoSC) started here today. The training is organized by National Development Foundation (NDF) Jammu in partnership with UNICEF and in collaboration with Directorate of School Education, Jammu, Directorate of Samagra Shiksha J&K and ICDS Directorate J&K. DS Katoch, Joint Director ICDS J&K inaugurated the training while Dr Romesh Sharma, Head Counselling Cell DSEJ, Santosh Yadav and Sumitra Yadav from Humana India acted as Resource persons. Isha Bal, Programme Officer Education NDF conducted the Proceedings. Bal Raina Admin & HR Manager NDF presented welcome address while vote of thanks was given Rajiv Khajuria, President & CEO of National Development Foundation gave a detailed account of Out of School Children (OoSC) programming and asked the Facilitators to identify OoSC in the target zones both never enrolled and dropout in the age group of 7-14 years. He also asked them to provide handholding support to teachers for their entry in "Talash App" for their main streaming in Education System. DS Katoch, Joint Director ICDS, in his address informed that they also target and support out of Scholl adolescent girls and called upon for collaboration with govt and civil society for more reach and transparency. He also briefed the audience about various schemes and services provided by the ICDS Department. He said that on the directions of Mission Director ICDS, Rubina Kouser, we have already directed the field Officers of ICDS to extend full cooperation to the staff and Education Facilitators of NDF in delivering Home Based Learning (HBL) at the door steps of the needy & COVID affected children and collaborate with them in identification of Out of School Children. |
