11 die, 15 injured in Doda accident

Kishtwar, Oct 28: The blood bath on roads in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir continues as in yet another tragic accident, 11 people died while 15 other got injured, 7 of them critically after a mini bus bearing Registration No.JK17-4021 meet with an accident at Suhgwari on Jammu-Kishtwar National Highway some 15 KM from District Headquarter Doda.
As per the details available with Early Times, the ill fated vehicle was on its way from Thathri to Doda—while reaching near Suhgwari, the driver of the vehicle lost his control over his vehicle as a result of which it skid off the road and falls into 500 deep gorge in which 8 people died on spot while 3 other died en-route to hospital or during the treatment.
As soon as the accident took place, the army from nearby 26 RR HQ and started the rescue operation. The army was later joined by the police and locals in retrieving the dead and ionjured.
As per the official; handout, the injured persons include Sanjay Kumar S/o Santosh Kumar R/o Panaja, Naveed Akhter S/O Ghulam Mustafa R/O Thalela, Babar Hussain S/O Alla Datta R/O Thalela, Rohit S/O Sugrev Sharma R/O Malvana, Neetu Devi D/O Lakshman Singh R/O Kahra Singh, Vikram Singh S/O Gulab Chand R/O Balwana, Ashok Sharma S/O Vidya Lal R/O Malwana, Parvez Ahmed S/o Khursheed Ahmed R/O Arif Mohalla Thathri, Arif Hussain S/O Mohd Musa R/O Kahra, Santosha Devi W/O Gurdev Singh R/O Premnagar Saveeta Devi W/O Ramesh Kumar R/O Dhal Mohalla, Ponam Devi D/O Balwant Singh R/O Premnagar, Ramesh Kumar SO Hem Raj R/O Thathtri,. Among the injured seven critically injured persons viz Rajesh Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Monika Devi, Santosha Devi, Babur, Parvez Ahmed, Khurshid Ahmed and Ponam Devi were airlifted to GMC Jammu for advance treatment.
The dead include Rajesh Kumar Son Bodhi Singh, Santosh Kumar son of Som Nath, both died at Doda Hospital, Ghulam Hussain Shah Son of Maqbool Shah, Hrithek Sharma Son of Lekh Raj, Jamal Din Son of Lal Din, Mohammad Latief Son of Mohammad Ramzan, Anari Devi Wife of Lt Swami Raj, Badhur Singh Son of Hari Singh, Kamal Singh Son of Dharam Singh & Gori Devi wife of Bidya Lal, all brought dead to hospital.
Meanwhile police has registered an FIR and has started its investigation.
