GCW Udhampur concludes ARP on CAB, vaccination promotion

UDHAMPUR, Oct 28: Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) Club of GCW Udhampur in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India and NSS units of GCW Udhampur concluded its Action Research Programme (ARP) on Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and vaccination promotion. In this Action Research Programme various activities were organized with the help of SAP and NSS volunteers.
On the very first day an awareness rally on COVID-19 was flagged off to the Rathian village by Principal of the college, Prof Minu Mahajan. The message of rally was conveyed with the help of placards and through recitation of slogans by the volunteers. The rally was escorted by SAP Club members and NSS POs, Dr Kewal Kumar, Prof Sumita Rao, Prof Sanjay Kumar, Prof Sanjeev Upadhyay and Prof Tania Mahajan.
From October 13 to 22, a door to door campaign was undertaken by the volunteers to apprise the villagers about Covid Appropriate Behaviour and vaccination promotion with the help of standard questionnaire. The volunteers also identified Covid affected families and counseled them to protect themselves and their families from COVID-19 in future also. In this context, a poster making competition was also organized at Govt Primary School (GPS), Blay, Rathian where a large number of students in the age group of 4 to 12 years participated with great enthusiasm.
Dr Anita Sharma of Department of Physics, Prof Sanjeev Upadhyay, Department of Sanskrit and Rekha Gupta, Teacher of GPS, Blay, Rathian acted as judges. Vaneet of Class 5th bagged 1st position while Muskaan of Class 5th and Akram of same class scored 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
On the culmination day of Action Research Programme, a cultural event, along with a 'Nukkad Natak' on COVID-19 awareness was presented by SAP and NSS volunteers at GPS, Blay, Rathian. Besides, a puppet show on the theme Covid Appropriate Behaviour was also presented by Radhika Sharma, a student of Sem-V. A Dogri speech was also delivered by Saher Shakeel of Sem-III.
Dr Kewal Kumar, Assistant Prof of Botany, Sanjeev Upadhyay, Assistant Prof of Sanskrit, Tania Mahajan, Assistant Prof of Zoology, Rekha Gupta and Chanderprabha, teachers of GPS, Blay Rathian were present on the occasion.
