GDC Darhal celebrates "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav" | | | Early Times Report DARHAL, Oct 28: As a part of the series of programmes organized to celebrate "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav", a patriotic song competition was organized in Govt Degree College (GDC) Darhal. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college, Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia appreciated the efforts of organizing team for providing a golden opportunity to the students to display their talent for the greater cause of the Nation. He said that the students of the college are regularly celebrating "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav" by taking part in various activities such as poster making competition, slogan writing competition and patriotic solo and group song competitions. He also threw light on the freedom struggle and sacrifices laid down by the freedom fighters. He motivated the students of the college to follow the footsteps of great freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subhash Chander Bose, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Bhagat Singh. Senior faculty member Dr Ahsan also spoke on this occasion. He said that dedication and devotion towards their motherland is the hallmark of the personality of great freedom fighters and students must learn from their life. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Imtiaz Hussain Shah talked about first war of independence. He said that we cannot forget the sacrifices of freedom fighters of this country. Mehrun Nisa got first prize, Sobia and Sanjeeda got second prize and Nazia Tabusum got third prize in the Patriotic song competition. Mahwish and Farzana were the jury members on the occasion. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Riaz. Others present on the occasion were Dr Mukhtiar, Altaf, Abdul Qayoom, Avez, Safeer and Saddam. |
