| CAs can play pivotal role in CCI: Chairman CCI | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 28: Northern India regional council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in association with Competition Commission of India (CCI) conducted a virtual webinar on 'Competition Law' for Chartered Accountants today. In the webinar, CA Avinash Gupta, Chairman, NIRC of ICAI welcomed the participants. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Chairperson, Competition Commission of India enlightened the members about the opportunity for CAs in CCI by revisiting their approach & knowledge to improve the competition for sustainable economic development and gave his invaluable insights in a lucid manner. He emphasized/reiterated the need of CCI to act as a deterrent in the cases of mergers & amalgamations which may result in reducing competition in the market and check the abuse of dominant positions.
CA Anshul Jain covered the session on 'Combination-Notifiability, exemption, assessment' whereas CA Sachin Goyal covered the session on 'Anti-trust-Overview of the law and its implications'. Both the guest speakers were exemplary and delivered the content in a comprehensive way. More than 2500 members virtually attended the webinar. |
