Cong stages protest against hike in prices of essential commodities | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 12: In protest against the rising prices of essential commodities, the Congress today staged a demonstration here today. Led by President Beopar Mandal and District General Secretary Congress Gurmeet Singh, the protesters criticized the BJP govt for plight of common poor man and unemployed youth as well as the sufferings of different sections of the society and. Speaking on the occasion, Gurmeet said that Congress would continue to highlight the problems of the people. He said that the LPG Gas Cylinder is costing Rs 951 which is not at all tolerable for the poor people and beyond their capacity to refill the cylinder at very high rate. Singh demanded that the govt should issue LPG cylinder free of cost to the BPL and poor families so that they may be able to pull on their daily life peacefully. He also sought issuance of kerosene oil to the economically weak people as was used to done earlier. Gurmeet Singh strongly condemned the BJP govt at the centre for the incessant price hike of essential commodities including LPG Cylinder and continue hike in price of petrol and diesel making life miserable for all sections of societies in the county. He said that Modi Govt has imposed heavy taxes on the people, as its economic policies have been total failure leading to worst ever economic situation and lowest ever growth in the country leading to unprecedented price rise of all commodities.
