DC Rajouri introduces 'Har Ghar Jal, Ghar Ghar Jal' scheme, public exalted | | | Early Times Report SUNDERBANI, Nov 12: Residents of at least four villages in Panchayat Nalamakol expressed their gratitude towards Deputy Commissioner Rajouri for introducing the much needed 'Har Ghar Jal, Ghar Ghar Jal' scheme in the area. They also thanked the present dispensation of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for addressing their problem of water scarcity. Talking to Early Times, residents of Barnada, Makol, Nahoti and Nala said that they are happy to see that at last their villages will have hassle free drinking water. "Our villages had been facing huge scarcity of water, but Har Ghar Jal, Ghar Ghar Jal scheme will certainly alleviate the problem," said locals, adding that they are thankful to the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sharawan Kumar for conceding their demands on priority. An official wishing anonymity shared that under this scheme a water filter plant and water tankers of 10, 000 gallon capacity shall be installed in the region with an estimated cost of Rs 7.50 crore. "Under this project, a water filter plant shall be installed in river Tawi and water tankers shall be constructed in four villages, so that every household shall get drinking water," said official, adding that this project is in progress under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, who is very much ambitious about the project. Earlier, a meeting of prominent citizens of the area was held, which was also attended by DDC Babu Rajinder Sharma, Naib Sarpanch and various panches. The officials, during the meeting, assured the villagers that this project shall be completed within a stipulated time and people will soon get drinking water. Junior Engineer, Naresh Pandita told the gathering that the Deputy Commissioner has put special emphasis on the completion of this project in a time bound manner. |
