| KVK Reasi distributes winnowing fans, seed treatment drums to tribal farmers | | |

JAMMU, Nov 12: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi distributed winnowing fans and seed treatment drums to tribal farmers from far-flung areas of Reasi district under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) project. All the SOPs pertaining to COVID-19 were strictly followed while conducting the programme.
Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi warmly welcomed the farmers and guided them about the use and benefits of winnowing fans and seed treatment drums. He spoke in detail on seed treatment in crops and encouraged the farmers to keep on working in accordance with the advice and technical guidance imparted by the KVK scientists for better farming. He stressed on the adoption of modern agricultural technologies for more returns. He said the farmers that by scientific commercial agriculture they can increase their crops production and ultimately they can raise their socio-economic status. He also guided the farmers for the organic inputs formulations and spoke on Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Dr. Shuja Nabi Qureshi, scientist spoke on production technologies in horticulture. He emphasized on the cultivation of walnut and pecan nut in the area. He said that hilly areas have immense potential in organic fruits and vegetables and added that farmers can fetch more prices by growing the organic fruits and vegetables. |
