Jammu Univ introduces 2-yr Journalism, Mass Communication course | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 3: The University of Jammu has introduced the much- awaited and high in demand two years course of Journalism and Mass Communication, starting from the coming session. Sharing details, Jammu University official spokesman Dr Vinay Thusoo said that the course has been introduced in the academics of the institution. Thusoo said that Vice Chancellor Prof Manoj K Dhar was very keen to introduce this course because it was a long-pending demand from the aspirants, who wanted to pursue a career in this field. “The higher authorities wanted to introduce this course much earlier but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it could not mature,” said Thusoo, adding that finally, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication has been introduced and the admission process has also been set into motion. “Initially, around 600-700 applications have been received,” he said, adding that the first batch will have 25 seats and the session will begin from next year. Prof Shyam Narayan Lal has been appointed as coordinator for the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, said Thusoo.
