Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, Dec 3: Juhi Pathania, Vice Chairperson, District Development Council Udhampur today stressed upon the officers to come with latest and updated information about the public issues and ensure that the grievances of the people are sorted on the spot.
Speaking at the Block Divas meeting in Block Khoon of district Udhampur, she also appealed to the PRIs as well as the people to give in advance a brief resume of their respective grievances and issues which they are supposed to raise in the block divas.
The grievances of the common people included provision of erecting poles and laying of electricity lines to all those people who have been issued connections under Saubhagya. They also sought up-gradation of Dhar road to Sortha road, Banu to Bilaspur road, Sundla to Laa and Dhar road to Dager road.
The people also called for provision of drinking water supply in the villages of Choremotto, Babey and Panjian and others which are suffering due to shortage of water supply. They also asked for provision of staff in GHSS Garh Samna Banj. The Vice Chairperson expressed anguish over delay in completion of girls hostel at G.S Banj and directed the PWD department to complete the project at the earliest.
Juhi Pathania further sought immediate installation of transformers at Swalta, Tajoor and Bainsar (SC Basti Khoon). She also asked the PDD authorities to install the transformers which are already sanctioned under PMDP. Sarpanches and Panches of the area complained against some departments/officials for being unresponsive to public issues projected at Block Divas meetings. Juhi had a word with the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur on the matter and asked her to ensure that such faux pas does not take place again. She further called for maintaining a karyavahi register to keep a note of issues projected and follow up.
The Block Divas meeting was attended by Sarpanches, prominent citizens as well as officials representing the administration.
