| SKUAST-J celebrates Armed Forces Flag Day | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 7: To commemorate Armed Force Flag Day-2021 and celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, NSS wing of SKUAST-Jammu, under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu, Prof JP Sharma and Dean Students' Welfare, Prof Rajesh Katoch organized a function for volunteer donation towards Army Welfare Fund. On the occasion, Prof JP Sharma highlighted the significance of the armed Force Flag day to the young NSS volunteers of SKUAST-Jammu. Vice Chancellor emphasized that such types of celebrations will inculcate patriotism among the young generations. He also stressed upon to inculcate Indian culture and values in all spheres/aspects of life. Prof Sharma advised to invite the war heroes /war widows from Jammu region in future events to be honoured by the university authorities. The function ended with donations from all the individuals present during the function as well as from all divisions of Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Basic Sciences and Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & AH. The donation so collected will be deposited to the account of Zila Sainik Welfare Office Jammu for the welfare of families of soldiers killed or disabled in performing their duty during War/hostile actions. The programme was organized by Prof Rajesh Katoch, Dean Students' Welfare and team of NSS instructors of Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. Dr Subhash C Kashyap, Dr Arvinder Singh, Dr Nomita, Dr Sushmita, Dr Kawardeep, Dr Divyendu, Dr R Punia and Dr Anil Bhat were also present during the occasion. |
