Thathri, Dec 7: In the very frustrating winters, massive power cuts across Doda district are compelling people to stay put in darkness. In Thathri town, power cuts have become a routine. “Three to four transformers have been replaced in Thatri town during the past one week,” locals said. The officials of the JPDCL said that the load of consumers is increasing due to which power cuts have become inevitable. On the other hand, people blame department for the negligence. A local from Thathri, Mohammad Shafqat, said, "Massive power cuts have affected our lives and especially our businesses. Some garment shops are in the streets and due to power cuts we are losing business . I think the PDD is using old transformers as replacement, which develop just few hours after being installed.” Another local said that the power cuts have hit the student community hard. “Our pleas are not being heard. We appeal the higher ups to intervene and resolve this issue,” he added. |
