CBK produces charg-sheet against then Director G&M Department, GMM Tamil Nadu company in criminal misconduct case | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 10: Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) has produced a shargesheet against the then Director Geology and Mining Department, two officers of Jammu and Kashmir and then General Manager Marketting of a Tamil Nadu company in a case of abusing their Official Positions and Criminal Misconduct. A CBK spokesman said, chargesheet was produced in a case FIR No: 12/2011 U/S 5(1)d, 5(2) PC Act Samvat Act 2006 r/w 120-B RPC of P/S CBK aginst the then Director Geology and Mining Department Ishtiaq Ahmad Ashai, Senior Drilling Engineer Ashok Dhar, the Technical Officer Mushtaq Ahmad Kirmani and then General Manager Marketting of M/S Revathi Equipments Ltd. Of Tamil Nadu S Rama Krishnan for abusing their Official Positions and Criminal Misconduct who were found involved in purchasing the Rig Machine for the department of Geology and Mining Jammu and Kashmir despite the field reports that the said machine had not performed satisfactorily as per the laid down specifications when put to series of test checks. The CBK received a communication from the Administrative Department of Commerce J&K alleging therein that the Directorate of Geology and Mining had purchased DTH Hydraulically Operated Concentric Drilling Rig from M/S Revathi Equipments Coimbatore Tamil Nadu and the said machine had not performed satisfactorily when put to series of tests and checks as per conditions laid down in the agreement. Consequently PV No: 05 of 2010 was initiated which culminated in the registration of FIR No: 12/2011 in Crime Branch Kashmir." During the course of investigation, it was proved that the accused persons by abusing their official positions under a well knit criminal conspiracy with the supplier firm facilitated and released the cost of machine in crores in favour of the Supply Firm. It was also established that the machine was purchased without conducting the relevant test and checks of the as per the specifications enshrined in the supply order and thereby accepting the machine despite having adverse performance reports from the field staff, the CBK spokesman said. said, the deal has been done with dishonest intention had caused loss to the State Exchequer. |
