DSS pays tributes to General Rawat, other brave hearts | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 10: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) J&K organized "Shardhanjali Samaroh", at Sabha Bhawan Jammu to pay rich tributes to the first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the country Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and eleven other brave hearts of Indian Army and Air force in a tragic air crash. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and President DSS, all Executive Committee Members and other prominent citizens of Jammu recalled the progress of the all three Defence forces by leaps and bounds during the glorious tenure of the CDS. Members also paid rich tributes to Madhulika Rawat, Brig. L.S. Lidder, Lt. Col. Harjinder Singh, Wing Comm PS Chouhan, Squadron Leader K. Singh, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitender Kumar, Lance Naik Vivek, Lance Naik B.S. Teja, Havaldar Satpal, JWO Dass, JWO Pardeep. The speakers said that the tragic demise of all of them is a great shock for the nation and a matter of grief for us all. DSS is with its Armed Forces in such an hour of tragedy and will always come forward in their support. Candles were lit in memory of the departed souls on the occasion and the members observed two minutes silence and prayed to God for peace to the departed souls and also for early recovery of Group Captain Varun Singh, Directing Staff at DSSC, who was critically injured in the crash. Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion and paid glowing tributes in honour of the departed souls were Col (Retd) Karan Singh Jamwal, Maj Gen (Retd) GS Jamwal, Brig (Retd) MS Jamwal, Prof RD Sharma ex-Vice Chancellor, Col Dr Virender Kr Sahi, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak and several others.
