GDC Ramnagar organizes cleaning, rejuvenation of religious places | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAMNAGAR, Dec 10: In connection to the series of the activities conducted under Clean India Campaign, NSS Unit GDC Ramnagar organized a two-day long programme of the cleaning and rejuvenation of natural and religious places of Ramnagar as a part of Special Winter Camp under the patronship of Dr Udhey Bhanu, Principal GDC Ramnagar. The holy Narsingh temple at Garlang village in Ramnagar has several spiritual values associated with it. Here every year a special Rath festival is celebrated in the month of December in which a number of the people from local areas and from outside visit. The festival is celebrated to preserve and to promoted Dogra culture and traditional Dogra customs. Keeping in view the rejuvenation of the holy place and cleanliness of the natural water body flowing nearby the temple, NSS volunteers along with their NSS Programme Officer Prof Ritika Mahajan visited the area and conducted a series of activities. On day one NSS volunteers carried out the cleaning of temples of Narsingh Bhagwaan and Lord Shiva at Dalsar, the places having aesthetic and spiritual values associated with them. On day two, volunteers cleaned the bowli and small river flowing besides the temple located in the prime location of the village near the temple. An initiative has been taken by NSS volunteers towards cleaning the waste surrounding the temple so that the water of the water body (bowli) can be properly utilize for future use. The entire activities were carried by wearing mask, gloves and use of sanitizers. |
