GDC Chatroo observes Anti-Corruption Day

KISHTWAR, Dec 10: In order to aware the students about the menace of corruption, the Department of English under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell of GDC Chatroo observed the International Anti-Corruption Day. The day began with a pledge wherein all the faculty members and students vowed to never get involved in corruption.
The main function which was organized under the guidance and supervision of Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi Principal GDC Chatroo was held in the main hall of the college.
The main event of the day was an intra-college Slogan Writing Competition which started with an introductory speech by Dr Jamsheed Ahmad Chief Organizer of the event. He stressed upon the importance of such initiatives and urged the students to actively participate to hone their talents and creative abilities.
He deliberated upon the menace of corruption and urged them to act as harbingers of anti corruption drives. Ten students participated in the competition and wrote slogans on the theme “Your Right, Your Roles: Say no to Corruption”. The slogans were written in English, Urdu and Hindi.
Dr Ashaq Hussain Convener of the event congratulated the Department of English for taking such initiatives.
He urged the students to play an active role in curbing the corruption. He further requested his colleagues to keep the institution corruption free and to ensure that no such illegal activity takes place around them.
Dr J V Manhas, Prof Wasim Rasheed, Dr Muddassar Nazar and Prof Chering Dorjee acted as the judges for the event.
Ashira from Semester 5th and Saniya Irshad from Semester 3rd bagged third and second prize respectively whereas Nadiya Malik from semester 3rd got the first prize.
