| GDC Kalakote observes Human Rights Day | | |

KALAKOTE, Dec 10: GDC Kalakote in collaboration with NSS unit organized a seminar on Human Rights Day. The theme of Human Rights Day 2021 was “Reducing Inequality and Advancing Human Rights” in commemoration to “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”. This year theme relates to equality and Article 1 of UDHR which says “all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”. This event was organized by HOD Political Science Dr. Tariq Rashid Wani under the supervision of Principal, Dr. Romesh Kr. Gupta, Principal of the College.
The event was commenced with the formal address of Dr. Tariq Rashid Wani where he highlighted that the principles of equality and non-discrimination are the heart of human rights. At last, Dr. Romesh Kr. Gupta, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the organizing committees to successfully organizing this event and giving students a platform to learn the value of Human Rights. He further appreciated the students for their participation.
Vrinda Sharma also shared her valuable views on the occasion that every individual living on earth has the basic right which they must be aware of and also she remarked that the UN along with a ruling government in any member country plays a huge role in educating people about their basic rights. All teaching and Non-teaching staff was also present there including Prof. Anayat Ullah Khan, Prof. Priyanka Kumari, Dr. Mohd, Shakoor, Dr. Ajay Singh Manhas, Dr. Afa Dul Mujiaba, Jyoti Devi and Naeem Majeed. All the 3rd and 5th semester students participated in this event. In the end the vote of thanks was presented by Pooja Rana. |
