| GLDM Degree College celebrates Human Rights Day | | |

HIRANAGAR, Dec 10: GLDM Degree College celebrated Human Rights Day as well as International Anti-Corruption Day by organizing different activities.
The Department of Political Science in collaboration with the Department of Education and IQAC organized a webinar on the importance of Human Rights and on how to prevent corruption. On the occasion Prof. Suresh Sharma, principal and patron of webinar appreciated the efforts of both the departments and IQAC. He also deliberated about how to safeguard your rights legally.
In this virtual program, Speaker Dr Davinder Kour, HOD Education, spoke on the topic, Human Rights and Role of Education. She emphasized the importance of education in promotion and awareness about Human Rights.
Whereas another Resource person, Prof. Meesha Bhagat of GDC Sidhra spoke at length on Dr B.R Ambedkar's view on Human Rights. She also threw light on human rights with reference to the constitution of our country.
In this webinar, Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed, senior Advocate Jammu Bar Council shared his expert views on Anti-Corruption.
He put up some live examples to make participants aware about some cases which are basically fake and fabricated to defame the particular person.
On the other hand, the NSS Unit of the college organized a seminar also to celebrate Human Rights Day in which volunteers of the NSS Unit participated and deliberated their thoughts. Prof. Rakesh sharma NSS Program Officer conducted the proceedings of the Seminar.
The whole event was hosted by Prof Ritika, HOD Political Science, Professor Sujhat Khan, HOD Computer Applications & Coordinator IQAC in collaboration with the Education Department.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Kiran Thapa (AP Education). More than 90 participants, students and faculties participated virtually in this program. |
