Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 12: Former Minister & Senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma conducted a 3 days tour of billawar assembly where he attended many social and religious functions and listen to public grievances. While throwing light on incident in which BJP DDC Member Nagrota Gujroo intervened the ongoing interview and attacked the reporter at Lakhri Billawar Dr Manohar lal Sharma said on 09/12/2021 he was giving interview on Land issues to the reporter of Dainik Shiv Times portal when all of sudden BJP DDC member from GUJROO NAGROTA along with his associates entered the location stopped the ongoing interview and started abusing & manhandling the reporter and cameraperson . He said he was shocked to see such attitude behavior of an elected representative and taking strong exception of the incident Dr Sharma told BJP leadership to clear their stand on the issue and further said that the high headiness and no fear of law to BJP leaders can be gauged from the situation that an elected BJP representative attacked the media person in front of a Former Minister who was with his provided security cover. He further said if such thing took place in presence of his security cover, than god know what a common man is suffering at behest of BJP leadership. He further questioned LG administration that are BJP leaders above the law or there is no fear of law to them?
Dr Sharma said BJP's "BETI BACHAO BETI PADAO" slogan again proved to be a hollow one, as the female cameraperson was also manhandeled and abused but till now no any statement condemning the incident has come from BJP leadership and further accused BJP leadership of putting pressure on Administration to brush off the incident.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has furthered asked the Police department that it has been 3 days now since the incident happened but why Police is not registering a FIR against DDC member. Are they under pressure from BJP leadership? He further demanded a thorough investigation in the matter and book the culprits under law so that trust is established among the media fraternity and they can work without any fear.
