‘Rulers don’t like PAGD, conspiring to break it’ | | | Saahil Suhail
Early Times Report
Anantnag, Dec 12: Former Chief Minister and Vice-President Jammu Kashmir National Conference Omar Abdullah on Sunday accused New Delhi of hatching conspiracies against Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Deceleration (PAGD). “There is no doubt that our rulers don’t like PAGD. Conspiracies were being hatched against PAGD to weaken it and few our colleagues in PAGD were made to leave it, however all the constituents of PAGD are well aware of these conspiracies and will not allow them to succeed,” Omar told reporters on being asked why the administration in Jammu and Kashmir was selective in permitting political parties to hold rallies and conventions. Omar Abdullah also condemned the statement of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in which he had said that Nimaz at open places will not be tolerated. “I condemn the statement of the Haryana Chief Minister. Had he said this for all other religions then it was ok but since it is for only one faith so it is clear that he is targeting one faith. This isn’t the India we had acceded with. Jammu and Kashmir has acceded with secular India,” Omar Abdullah said. Omar Abdullah said that his party’s fight to reverse the 5 August 2019 decision was one and appropriate changes will take place as and when required. Earlier, the Srinagar administration had disallowed PDP to hold youth convention in Gupkar Srinagar citing COVID-19 restrictions while as Police said that they had IED input and allowing a number of vehicles to get parked on Gupkar road which houses important offices including security forces would have posed a security risk in the area. |
